Lyndon King
Lyndon King, Jr. established a Charitable Remainder Unitrust in 1997 and included Avera McKennan as one of the beneficiaries of the trust. Lyndon and Shirley King were devoted to the mission of Avera McKennan. Having worked in the health care field, Lyndon was a generous and outgoing man who said he wanted to be a doctor ever since he quit wanting to be a fireman. Following service in the armed forces during World War II, Dr. King trained at University Hospital in Minneapolis. MN. He went on to marry Shirley King and have three daughters. After a successful career as a dermatologist, Lyndon knew he wanted to give back and looked to Avera McKennan as his hospital of choice. "Giving was a big part of financial success," adds his daughter Mary McCaulley. "Charity is a part of life."
